An Urgent Command
What does it mean to truly live with urgency? In Acts 1, as Jesus prepares to ascend into heaven, his disciples ask a question that reveals a very human tendency: they want to know the timeline, the schedule, the plan. And his response cuts straight to the heart of what it means to follow him. He tells them plainly that the times and seasons are not theirs to know, but what they are to do in the meantime is unmistakably clear. Go. Tell. Reach. This message challenges us to wrestle with a deeply personal question: if we genuinely believed Jesus could return at any moment, would it change how we spend our days? The parable of the talents in Matthew 25 presses this even further, reminding us that every gift, every ability, every opportunity we have been given is not ours to bury out of fear or indifference. One day we will stand before God and give an account of what we did with what we were entrusted. That is not a thought meant to produce dread, but to ignite purpose. We have been placed exactly where we are, among the people around us, for a reason that matters far beyond the everyday routine.
